We're based in Bourne, so Lincolnshire is where we start every morning. The south and west of the county sit on the limestone ridge, and its towns are built from it.
Much of our Lincolnshire work is restoration and indent repairs on period houses, along with stonework made in our workshop for local builders and landscapers.
Stamford's streets are almost entirely stone-built. Further north, Ancaster gives its name to one of the best-known Lincolnshire limestones, and the historic towns follow the ridge up to Lincoln.
Weathered faces, eroded quoins and failing cills are common on this soft limestone. An indent, cut from matching stone and tooled to suit, often saves the rest of the block.
