Garden & Boundary Walls

New garden walls and rebuilt boundary walls, built in stone to suit the house and finished with a proper coping.

A good wall starts below ground. We dig a sound foundation, build with through-stones and set the coping so water runs off rather than in.

What's involved

  • Foundations to suit the ground
  • Coursed stone to match the house
  • Copings, piers and buttresses

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls hold back a lot of weight, so they need the right thickness, batter and drainage. We build them to last, in stone that suits the garden.

What's involved

  • Drainage behind the wall
  • A batter or thickness to suit the height
  • Stone faced to match the garden

Questions

Things people ask us

Yes. Our work ranges from a single garden wall or window cill to whole country houses.

Every job is different, so we price after seeing it. Tell us about the job and we'll explain how we'd approach it and arrange a visit to give a written quotation. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.

Lime is softer and more breathable than the stone around it, so moisture escapes through the joints rather than the stone face. Hard cement mortars trap moisture and can cause soft limestone and ironstone to spall.
